Every Family

Now the LORD said to Abram, 'Go from your country and your kindred and your father's house to the land that I will show you. I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you, and make your name great, so that you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and the one who curses you I will curse; and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.' (Genesis 12:1-3)

God has blessed us, but not so that we can now lie back and bask in the blessing - we are blessed so that others can be blessed through us.

God chose a family - the family of Abraham. Christianity is not just about individuals, it's about family - God has made us His family, His children. So that all families can be blessed. It is a beautiful thing when whole families come to believe in Jesus, instead of being separated. Sadly, in some countries persecution starts in the family when one person becomes Christian and the rest of the family doesn't accept it.

So please pray for whole families to choose faith in Jesus, for whole communities to turn to Him.
Please pray for those who are being persecuted or oppressed by their own family. Pray for strength and joy for them, and also that they may have the strength to forgive and love their family despite what they're doing to them. Pray that they can be salt and light to their own family.
Pray that you can be a blessing to the people around you, and pray for ideas how to reach the people around you and be a light to them!
