That verse from Joshua 24 is really famous. Have you ever read the whole context? It's from a passage where Joshua tells the people of Israel that they have two choices: follow God, or worship idols. In Joshua 24:15, he says the choice is up to them - but he and his family have chosen the Lord.

For many people it's a big choice. Choosing to follow Jesus can be costly if one's family still insists on ancestor worship or idol worship or the like. So, please pray for them.

Though Taiwan is pretty open to Christianity and one can't say there's any persecution there, within families there can still be some conflict when someone wants to become a Christian, because of the whole ancestor worship thing and the fears connected to it. It's also all a question of family respect I think - filial piety is really important in Chinese culture, so refusing to worship one's ancestors can be seen as not respecting them. So please pray for people in such a situation, and that their families can see that they're not being disrespectful, and that there's other ways to respect one's family and respect the dead than by worshipping one's ancestors.

Also, wouldn't it be wonderful if whole families - "me and my house", as Joshua says - could come to follow Jesus? Not only would it save a lot of conflict and pain, but it's important that everyone will be save because that's what God wants.
